Weather: Spring in full bloom as temperatures return to 70s

After a brief cold snap around Easter weekend, the spring season gets going this week as high temperatures return to the 70s here in Coweta County.

The National Weather Service says to expect sunny skies with highs near 76 on Monday and Tuesday, then bumps up to 80 on Wednesday. Rain chances increase to 80 percent on Thursday and 50 percent on Friday with the highs remaining 75 and 77, respectively.

Overnight lows will be mild with a low Monday night of 47, then in the 50s the remainder of the week.

The weekend will be partly sunny with highs near 75 and a 50 percent rain chance on Saturday and 30 percent on Sunday.

TUESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

TUESDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 51. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

WEDNESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 80. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.

THURSDAY – Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 75. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

FRIDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 77.

SATURDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 76.
