Weather: Rain on and off through Saturday night

Rain will once again be part of a weekend weather forecast for Coweta County, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
In fact, this will be the third consecutive weekend with rain. The last time Coweta had a dry weekend was Jan. 15-16-17.
Today, a 40 percent rain chance is in the morning forecast before mostly sunny skies take over in the afternoon. The high temperature is expected to be near 51 degrees. Overnight, rain chances return (20%) with the low near 33.
On Saturday, rain will move in after 2 p.m. with the high near 47. Rain chances are listed at 80 percent both in the afternoon and overnight. The low will be 36.
And on Sunday, partly sunny skies return with dry conditions and a high of 53 degrees. The overnight low drops to 32 under clear skies.
Monday’s forecast is mostly sunny with a high of 58.
Below is the day-by-day forecast (subject to change) from the National Weather Service.
FRIDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before 9am. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 51. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
FRIDAY NIGHT – A slight chance of showers between 8pm and 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
SATURDAY – Showers, mainly after 2pm. High near 47. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
SATURDAY NIGHT – Showers, mainly before 1am. Low around 36. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
SUNDAY – Partly sunny, with a high near 53. North wind around 5 mph.
SUNDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 32.
MONDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 58.
