Weather: Wednesday rain only damper to work week forecast

When it comes to this week’s weather in Coweta County, four out of five is not bad.

Now that spring 2022 is official, Coweta County can expect seasonal conditions today, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. It’s Wednesday that is playing havoc with the nice weather week.

Today’s forecast from the National Weather Service in Peachtree City calls for sunny skies and a high of 72 degrees. Overnight, clouds begin moving in and the low will only drop to 49. 

It will be partly sunny during the day on Tuesday with a high of 76. Then changes begin late Tuesday (after midnight) with rain chances listed at 80 percent. 

Wednesday will be a washout for much of the day with a strong cold front moving through. An 80 percent rain chance is set for Wednesday – with some severe weather possible – and a high of 73. 

Then Thursday and Friday, it’s back to the nice weather pattern with mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower 60s.

MONDAY –  Sunny, with a high near 72. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

MONDAY NIGHT –  Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

TUESDAY –  Partly sunny, with a high near 76. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT – A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2am. Low around 60. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

WEDNESDAY –  Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 2pm, then a chance of showers. High near 73. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

THURSDAY –  Mostly sunny, with a high near 64.

FRIDAY –  Mostly sunny, with a high near 62.

SATURDAY –  Sunny, with a high near 65.
