Weather Week in Coweta: Cool temperatures, more rain

Winter appears to have finally arrived in Coweta County as the National Weather Service says to expect cool temperatures through most of the week.

Following a cold start today, Coweta will have sunny skies with a high near 45 degrees. A slight chance of rain moves in Tuesday night, before temperatures reach 60 degrees with a 70-100 percent rain chance on Wednesday.

The rain moves out Thursday but leaves behind cold temperatures with highs only in the low 40s and lows in the 20s.

Below is the day-by-day forecast (as of 7:45 a.m. today) from the NWS:

TODAY – Sunny, with a high near 45. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east in the afternoon.

TUESDAY – A 10 percent chance of showers after 5pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 48. East wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

WEDNESDAY – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a high near 60. Southeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

THURSDAY – A 40 percent chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 44.

FRIDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 44.
