Weather Week in Coweta: Warm with rain chances increasing

The first real chances for rain will move into the Coweta County forecast by midweek, according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
The first part of the week is more of the same since the early heat wave moved in about two weeks ago. Then clouds begin increasing on Wednesday with rain chances set at 30 percent, then 40 percent on Thursday and 60 percent on Friday.
Temperatures will start out in the low 90s, then drop into the high 80s as cloud cover moves in.
Below is the day-to-day forecast by the NWS:
MONDAY – Sunny, with a high near 91. Light northwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.
TUESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 91. East wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
WEDNESDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 91. South wind around 5 mph becoming west in the afternoon.
THURSDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 88.
FRIDAY – Showers and thunderstorms likely. Cloudy, with a high near 84. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
