Weather Week in Coweta: Expect highs in the 90s

Summer has certainly come into 2020 roaring as Coweta County can expect high temperatures in the low-to-mid 90s all week, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with rain chances minimal at best, at least until Wednesday, when a 20 percent chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm is possible. It increases to 40 percent on Thursday and Friday.

The hottest day of the week will be Wednesday with a forecast of 95 degrees. Lows all week will be near 70 degrees.

Below is the day-by-day forecast (subject to change) from NWS:

MONDAY – Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Northwest wind around 5 mph.

MONDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 69. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

TUESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 93. Calm wind.

TUESDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 70. Calm wind.

WEDNESDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Sunny, with a high near 95. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.

THURSDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 94.

FRIDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 93.
