Weather Week in Coweta: Mix of sun, rain with mild temperatures

Look for a mix of rain, sun and mild temperatures this week here in Coweta County.
The National Weather Service says to expect a cold front with showers and thunderstorms to move through tonight as rain chances increase to 80 percent later this evening. Then on Tuesday, gusty northwest winds – as high as 20 mph – will bring with it clearing skies and drop the overnight lows to the mid-40s.
Wednesday and Thursday appear to be the best days of the week with sunny skies, highs near 70 degrees with lows around 45.
Rain moves back into Coweta County late Thursday night and Friday.
Below is the day-by-day forecast as of 6 a.m. from the National Weather Service in Peachtree City:
MONDAY – Areas of dense fog before 11am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 78. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
MONDAY NIGHT – Showers and thunderstorms likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1am. Low around 59. Southeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
TUESDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
TUESDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 44. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
WEDNESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 68. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon.
THURSDAY – Sunny, with a high near 70.
FRIDAY – Showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 66. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
