Weather Week in Coweta: Rain returns Tuesday, Sunny weekend ahead

Much-needed rain returns to the Coweta County area beginning tomorrow, but the National Weather Service says the weekend will be sunny and dry.
A 50 percent chance of rain on Tuesday increases to 70 percent Wednesday and Thursday before moving out late Halloween night. Highs through Thursday will be in the mid-70s, then expected to drop to the low 60s by Friday.
The early Halloween forecast calls for cloudy skies, and a 70 percent chance of rain Thursday with a high near 77. Halloween night will also be mostly cloudy with a 60 percent rain chance.
Here’s the day-by-day forecast (as of 6 a.m.) from the National Weather Service:
MONDAY – Patchy dense fog before 10am. Otherwise, partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 77. Calm wind.
TUESDAY – A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
WEDNESDAY – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a high near 73. Southeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
THURSDAY – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a high near 77. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
HALLOWEEN NIGHT – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
FRIDAY – Sunny, with a high near 61.
