Weather Week in Coweta: Mostly sunny, but rain Wednesday

Four days of sunny skies is in this work week’s forecast for Coweta County, according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

Folks can look for sunny to mostly sunny skies today and Tuesday, with highs in the mid-70s. And sunny skies on Thursday and Friday and with highs near 70.

On Wednesday afternoon, an 80 percent rain chance is forecast for the afternoon with showers and possibly a thunderstorm.

After a breezy weekend, look for winds of 5-10 mph from the northwest to continue on Monday and from the south on Tuesday. Then jumping up to 10-15 mph and gusting to 20 from the south on Wednesday.

Below is the day-by-day forecast (subject to change) from the NWS:

MONDAY – Sunny, with a high near 73. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

MONDAY NIGHT – Partly cloudy, with a low around 48. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

TUESDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

WEDNESDAY – A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. High near 72. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

THURSDAY – Sunny, with a high near 69.

FRIDAY – Sunny, with a high near 74.
