Weather: Rain possible today, Wednesday; sunny skies return Thursday

This shortened work week will start with rain chances today and Wednesday before sunny skies and cooler temperatures arrive Thursday.

Following this morning’s showers, rain chances for the remainder of today and tonight are listed at 40 percent, increasing to 60 percent on Wednesday as a stationary front sits just south of Coweta. High temperatures will be in the mid-80s. 

On Thursday, sunny skies return with a high of only 83 degrees and an overnight low of 60. Much of the same can be expected Friday, Saturday and into Sunday.

TUESDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon. 

TUESDAY NIGHT – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm. 

WEDNESDAY – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. 

WEDNESDAY NIGHT – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

THURSDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph. 

FRIDAY – Sunny, with a high near 84.

SATURDAY – Sunny, with a high near 87.
