Weather Week in Coweta: Highs in the low 90s all work week

The so-called Dog Days of Summer have appeared to arrive here in the Coweta County area this week.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says to look for mostly sunny skies throughout most of the work week with highs in the low 90s and lows near 70 degrees.

Rain chances range from 20 percent today to 50 percent on Friday.

Below is the day-by-day forecast from the NWS (As of 6 a.m.):

MONDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.

TUESDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

WEDNESDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

THURSDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 92.

FRIDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89.
