Weather Week in Coweta: Rain chances increase beginning Wednesday

Rain chances as high as 80 percent are forecast for Thursday and Friday of this work week in Coweta County, according to the National Weather Service.

The week begins with mostly sunny skies today and Tuesday with high temperatures near 91 degrees. Rain chances jump to 60 percent for Wednesday and then 80 percent to round out the work week.

High temperatures will drop to about 85 degrees once the rain moves in Thursday. Lows for the week will be near 67 degrees.

Below is the day-by-day forecast (subject to change) from the NWS:

MONDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

MONDAY NIGHT – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Mostly clear, with a low around 67. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

TUESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 91. Northeast wind around 5 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Calm wind.

WEDNESDAY – A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

THURSDAY – Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 85. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

FRIDAY – Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 85. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
