Weather Week in Coweta: Rain moves in Tuesday thru Thursday

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says to expect rain through the middle of the work week here in Coweta County.

After a mostly sunny day today, rain chances bump up to 50 percent on Tuesday, then 90 percent on Wednesday and Thursday before clearing on Friday. The high temperatures will be near 73 degrees today, then in the mid-60s through Thursday. Low temperatures will be mostly in the 50s.

The weekend appears to be mostly dry with only a 20 percent rain chance on Saturday on the extended forecast.

Below is the day-by-day outlook (as of 6 a.m. Monday, subject to change) from the NWS:

MONDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 73. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

MONDAY NIGHT – A 20 percent chance of showers after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 51. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

TUESDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 66. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a low around 59. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

WEDNESDAY – Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 68. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

THURSDAY – Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 65. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

FRIDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 51.
