Weather Week in Coweta: Warming trend expected beginning Wednesday

It’s officially spring break week here in Coweta County and the weather will generally reflect spring weather, especially beginning Wednesday.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City is giving a cool Monday and Tuesday forecast with highs at 60 degrees and lows near 40. A 40 percent rain chance is expected overnight.

On Wednesday, a nice warming trend begins as highs will reach 70 degrees under sunny skies.

Temps climb to the mid-70s on Thursday and Friday with a chance of rain each day. And for the weekend, the high temperatures of 80 degrees appear for the first time in 2019 with a slight chance of rain.

Below is the NWS forecast (as of 6 a.m. today) for Coweta County this week:

TODAY – Sunny, with a high near 60. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

TUESDAY – A 10 percent chance of rain before 7am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 61. East wind around 5 mph becoming north in the afternoon.

WEDNESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 70. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph.

THURSDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 74.

FRIDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 74.
