Weekend: Summer weather pattern continues in Coweta

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says to expect highs in the upper 80s with a chance of an afternoon pop-up shower or thunderstorm here in Coweta over the weekend.

That’s basically the normal summer pattern for this time of year. The high temperatures forecast will be 88 degrees today and Saturday and 89 on Sunday. There’s a 30 percent rain chance today and it drops to 20 percent Saturday and Sunday.

Overnight lows will be near 70.

Tropical Storm Ida, projected to be a Hurricane when it reaches the Louisiana coast on Sunday, will likely bring tropical rain to Coweta as early as Tuesday.

FRIDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the morning.

FRIDAY NIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. Southeast wind around 5 mph.

SATURDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 88. East wind 5 to 10 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. East wind around 5 mph.

SUNDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. East wind 5 to 10 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70.

MONDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 88.
