From Staff Reports

It does look as though Fall will finally make an appearance here in Coweta County this weekend and that’s a good thing because the “Things To Do Calendar” is busting at the seams.

One more day of record-high temperatures on Friday, then things start cooling down a bit for Saturday and Sunday.

Let’s begin with Friday as the headlining event is Main Street Newnan’s Oktoberfest, it’s fall beer-tasting event. The two-day Rockweave Music & Arts Festival starts at Sweetland Amphitheatre in LaGrange and five local prep football teams are in action, all on the road.

On Saturday, the headliner will be the two-day Fall Cotton Pickin’ Fair down in Gay. Also that morning, there’s an Alzheimer’s Walk at the Fred Amphitheatre in Peachtree City, the Hogansville Tower Trail 5K Walk/Run, Market Day in downtown Newnan, Senoia is hosting its Fall Sidewalk Sale event, plus the Paws & Claws Fall Festival at Dogwood Veterinary Hospital, the Coweta Area Motorcyclists Swap Meet, the 5th Annual Hogtoberfest with beer and live music at Abide Brewing Company, Northgate High hosts the 13th Annual Valhalla Classic Band Festival, and later that night, back at the Fred, it’s George Thorogood and the Destroyers on stage.

And on Sunday, the FERST Annual Lewis Grizzard & Catfish Memorial Bike Ride gets started in Moreland, a Fall Rummage Sale hosted by Senoia Animal Hospital begins in the afternoon and Chicago tribute band Orlando Transit Authority takes the stage at the Nixon Centre.

Theatrical performances over the weekend are set at the Legacy Theatre in Tyrone, Southside Theatre Guild in Fairburn, Serenbe Playhouse at Chattahoochee Hills and Wadsworth Auditorium in Newnan.

Weather-wise, after a record-high temperature near 95 degrees on Friday, the highs drop to the low 80s on Saturday and Sunday with a 20 percent rain chance both days.

Below is the day-to-day listing of events in the area. To have your event published, please email [email protected].
