Weekend Weather in Coweta: 90-degree heat returns

This week’s cool down was short-lived as the 90-degree heat makes its return to Coweta County this weekend, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
Forecast highs for the next three days are 90 degrees today (100 heat index), 91 on Saturday (97 heat index) and 90 on Sunday. Skies will range from partly sunny to mostly sunny. Rain chances of the pop-up showers or thunderstorms variety will be the highest today at 60 percent, but drops to 20 percent on Saturday and 30 percent on Sunday.
Low temperatures each day will be near 70.

FRIDAY – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Heat index values as high as 100. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
FRIDAY NIGHT – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 10pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. South wind around 5 mph.
SATURDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Sunny, with a high near 91. Heat index values as high as 97. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
SATURDAY NIGHT – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. Southwest wind around 5 mph.
SUNDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.
SUNDAY NIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68.
