Weekend Weather: Rain moves out, sunny Saturday and Sunday

For the first time in many weekends, Coweta County will see plenty of sunshine on both Saturday and Sunday.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has given a sunny, but cool forecast beginning Saturday. Expect the highs to be near 60 degrees with some gusty Northwest wind from 5-10 mph, gusting to 20. The lows will be in the upper 30s.

Below is the day-by-day forecast (as of 6:30 am. Friday) from the NWS:

TODAY – Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 2pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. High near 65. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

TONIGHT – A 10 percent chance of showers before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

SATURDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 58. North wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT – Partly cloudy, with a low around 37. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

SUNDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 61. North wind around 5 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 38.
