Weekend Weather in Coweta: Expect lots of rain

After several weeks of absolutely no rain here in Coweta County, it appears the National Weather Service forecast is going to give us all the rain we’ve missed in one weekend.
The forecast shows rain chances for 70 percent today, 80 percent on Saturday and again 70 percent on Sunday.
The good news, though, are high temperatures will be in the low 80s.
Below is the day-by-day forecast (as of 6 a.m. today) from the NWS:
FRIDAY – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 1pm, then showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
FRIDAY NIGHT – Showers and thunderstorms likely before 10pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. Southeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
SATURDAY – Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 11am, then showers and thunderstorms after 11am. High near 82. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
SATURDAY NIGHT – Showers and thunderstorms likely before 2am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 68. Southeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
SUNDAY – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8am, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 8am. Cloudy, with a high near 80. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
SUNDAY NIGHT – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a low around 67.
