Weekend Weather in Coweta: Highs to remain in the 90s

The recent string of 90-degree high temperatures will continue through the weekend, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

Folks can expect mostly-to-partly sunny skies with highs forecast for 91 today, 90 on Saturday and Sunday. Any breaks in the heat will be from an increased chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms. Today, there’s a 20 percent chance of rain, but increases to 50 percent both Saturday and Sunday.

Lows each day will be near 70 degrees.

Temperatures will cool slightly beginning Tuesday with a forecast high of 86.

Below is the day-by-day forecast (subject to change) from the NWS.

FRIDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.

FRIDAY NIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Calm wind.

SATURDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Heat index values as high as 97. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon.

SATURDAY NIGHT – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

SUNDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71.
