Weekend Weather in Coweta: Rain Friday, clearing by Saturday afternoon

This recent pattern of rain moving through ahead of cold fronts continues this weekend here in Coweta County, according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
The forecast calls for a 90 percent rain chance today and 80 percent tonight with rainfall amounts up to three quarters of an inch. Today’s high of 67 will be around lunch time before temperatures gradually begin dropping ahead of the approaching front.
On Saturday, rain will end before noon with skies then beginning to clear and temperatures drop below 50 around sunset. Expect a low of 32 degrees overnight Saturday.
And on Sunday, skies will be sunny with a high of 53.
Below is the day-by-day forecast for the NWS (as of 6 a.m., Friday):
FRIDAY – Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 67. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
FRIDAY NIGHT – Showers. Low around 51. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
SATURDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before noon. Partly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 50 by 5pm. West wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
SATURDAY NIGHT – Partly cloudy, with a low around 32. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
SUNDAY – Sunny, with a high near 53. Northwest wind around 10 mph.
SUNDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 34.
