Wednesday Daily Status Report: Coweta continues to rise, now at 397 cases

The 7 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Wednesday, May 27.
Coweta County had an increase of 14 new cases and 1 hospitalization today as indicated in the GPH report. Since last Thursday (May 21), Coweta has recorded 110 new cases. The overall cumulative total in Coweta is 397 cases, 8 deaths and 51 hospitalizations.
In today’s Long-Term Care Report from the Georgia Department of Community Health, Newnan Health & Rehabilitation Nursing Home posted 7 new cases and 2 additional deaths, making its cumulative total of 20 resident cases, 4 deaths and 13 staff cases. The 2 additional deaths were not included in the GPH Daily Status Report today. They will likely be added to the GPH report tomorrow making Coweta’s total number of deaths, 10.
Statewide today, Georgia recorded 655 new cases with 38 deaths, 105 hospitalized and 25 admitted to ICU.
In the last two days combined (Tuesday and Wednesday), Georgia has had 1238 cases, 85 deaths, 238 hospitalized and 59 to ICU.
Overall, Georgia now has a cumulative total of 44,638 cases, 1933 deaths, 7745 hospitalized and 1753 ICU admits. The total number of tests administered now stands at 518,591, though 77,835 of that total was antibody tests.
