Weekend Weather: Mostly dry, high near 90

With much of the area’s attention focused on the arrival of Hurricane Dorian this weekend along the Florida Atlantic Coast, the National Weather Service says the Labor Day Weekend here in Coweta County should be a nice one.

The forecast (as of 6 a.m. today) calls for mostly sunny skies through Labor Day with highs near 90 degrees. There is a 30 percent rain chance on Sunday, 20 percent on Monday. Of course, the forecast can change once Hurricane Dorian decides what path it will take.

Below is the day-by-day forecast from the NWS:

FRIDAY – Sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the morning.

FRIDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 65. East wind around 5 mph.

SATURDAY – Sunny, with a high near 90. East wind 5 to 10 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT – Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

SUNDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. East wind around 5 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69.

LABOR DAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 90.
