Weekend Weather: Summer pattern returns to Coweta

The usual summer pattern of high temperatures with an afternoon rain chance has returned to Coweta County in time for the weekend, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

After a cooler start to the week, the high temperatures have been inching toward the 90-degree mark again. Look for highs this weekend at 88 degrees today, 88 on Saturday and 90 on Sunday. Overnight lows will be near 70.

Only a 10 percent rain chance is in Friday’s forecast, but rises to 40 percent on Saturday and back to 20 percent on Sunday.

FRIDAY – A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon.

FRIDAY NIGHT – A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

SATURDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

SUNDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70.

MONDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9am. Sunny, with a high near 91.
