Cool, dry weekend on tap; Freeze Watch Saturday night

The weekend forecast for Coweta County has sunny skies, highs in the 50s and lows near freezing, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
Last night’s cold front pushed through around 8 p.m. with rain and some gusty winds. It’s now long gone and behind it will be clear skies and much cooler temperatures.
In fact, the NWS has issued a Freeze Watch for Coweta County beginning at 10 p.m. Saturday and ending at 9 a.m. Sunday. A Freeze Watch means that sub-freezing temperatures in the upper 20s and low 30s are possible Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Today, look for a high of 68 degrees but dropping steadily after sunset. The overnight low will be 41.
On Saturday, folks here in Coweta will have sunny and clear skies but a high of only 55 degrees. Northwest winds will be 5-10 mph, gusting to 20. The overnight low is expected to be near 32, thus the Freeze Watch.
Sunday’s high will be 58 and overnight low 36. Much of the same is forecast for Monday with a high near 56.

SUNDAY – Sunny, with a high near 58. West wind around 5 mph.
MONDAY – Sunny, with a high near 56.
