Coweta County Schools Closed On Thursday Due To Weather

From Special Reports:
Due to a forecast of severe weather conditions in our area, the Coweta County School System will close all schools on Thursday, October 29 for staff and students.
Hurricane Zeta is currently forecast to impact the Coweta area Thursday morning. According to the National Weather Service’s October 28 briefing, this storm will bring sustained tropical storm force winds overnight and early Thursday, with possible wind gusts of 30-60 miles per hour, bands of heavy rain and possible flash flooding, and possible downed trees and power outages. Coweta County is projected to remain under a Tropical Storm Warning into Thursday.
Because this event will likely affect staff and home connectivity, virtual learning will also be cancelled on Thursday, October 29.
The school system will notify parents of any updates to this plan, and will notify parents on Thursday about resumed school operations for Friday, October 30.
During threatening weather events, the school system makes decisions concerning transportation and school opening based on student safety and current conditions. To see more about the school system’s inclement weather procedures go to www.cowetaschools.net.
Parents are asked to continue to monitor weather conditions and any messages from their child’s school or the school system.
