UPDATE (7 p.m.) – Today’s second Daily Status Report has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Friday, April 10.

This report indicates 11,859 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Georgia (an increase of 376 from today’s noon report) and 425 deaths (an increase of 9 from earlier today). In Coweta County, the number of confirmed cases rose to 100 (up 10 from earlier today) and 2 deaths remain unchanged.

The top five counties in Georgia with the most confirmed cases – Fulton 1417, Dougherty 1072, DeKalb 826, Cobb 681 and Gwinnett 669.

The counties in Georgia with the most fatalities – Dougherty 68, Fulton 50, Cobb 33, Gwinnett 17, Bartow 15, Lee 15, Mitchell 13, DeKalb 13, Clayton 11, Terrell 10 and Clarke 10.

Adding the totals for today only, there’s 696 new cases, 43 deaths and 216 people hospitalized in Georgia during the last 24 hours.

Total number of people hospitalized in Georgia due to COVID-19 – 2,454 (an increase of 103 from earlier today).
