The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Friday, Nov. 6.
COWETA COUNTY CASES
Coweta County confirmed 11 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, with 0 deaths and 2 hospitalizations reported. Of the 11 cases, the age group of 75-84 years old had 3 new cases, the most of any group. It’s the 8th day in the past 10 that Coweta has been in double-digits for cases. Coweta is averaging 9.3 cases per day in November, slightly below the daily rate of 12.4 for October.
To date, Coweta has registered cumulative totals of 3069 cases, 63 deaths and 154 hospitalizations. The overall positive test rate is 7.8 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 6.8 percent.

GEORGIA CASES
In Georgia on Friday, the state confirmed 1738 cases (down 178 from Thursday), 30 deaths (down 24), 100 hospitalizations (down 75) and 17 ICU admits (down 10). Georgia now has only been above 2000 cases in a day twice since Sept. 19 and has a consecutive streak of 83 days below 3,000.
Presently, there are 1,511 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID, up 77 from yesterday. Also today, 2,407 ICU beds are in use across the state (81.8 percent capacity) which is up 4 from Thursday.
Overall, Georgia has recorded cumulative totals of 370,106 cases, 8156 deaths, 32,317 hospitalizations and 6075 ICU admits. The overall positive test rate is 9.4 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 7.3 percent.
Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
