The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Wednesday, Sept. 30.

COWETA COUNTY CASES

Coweta County confirmed 11 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, including 1 hospitalization and 0 deaths.

In September, Coweta ended the month with 379 cases or 12.6 per day (both 3rd-highest monthly totals), 21 deaths (most in a single month), and 24 hospitalizations (2nd-highest monthly total).

To date, Coweta has recorded cumulative totals of 2628 cases, 47 deaths and 132 hospitalizations. The overall positive test rate is 8.4 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 5.2 percent.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

GEORGIA CASES

Statewide on Wednesday, Georgia confirmed 1720 cases (up by almost 700 from Tuesday). In addition, there were 27 deaths, 183 hospitalizations and 44 ICU admits. It marks the 46th consecutive day the state has been below 3,000 cases in a day.

Presently, there are 1349 people in Georgia hospitalized, up 1 from Tuesday.

Overall, Georgia has recorded cumulative totals of 318,026 cases, 7021 deaths, 28,522 hospitalizations and 5269 ICU admits. The overall positive test rate is 10.2 percent and in the last 2 weeks, it’s 6.1 percent.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
