Friday: Coweta confirms another record day of cases

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Friday, Aug. 14.

Coweta County confirmed a second consecutive record day for cases with 63, up 6 from yesterday’s previous single-day high of 57. Coweta recorded no deaths and 1 hospitalization on Friday. Presently for the month of August, Coweta has recorded 392 cases or an average of 28.0 per day. It’s the 25th consecutive day Coweta has seen double-digit new cases.

Cumulative totals to date for Coweta include 1688 cases, 26 deaths and 104 hospitalizations.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (63 on Aug. 14); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

Today, Georgia confirmed 3227 cases, 35 deaths, 237 hospitalizations and 36 ICU admits. It was 39th consecutive day the state has recorded 2,000-or-more COVID-19 cases in a single day.

Presently, there are 2691 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID-19, which is a decrease of 116 from yesterday.

Overall, Georgia now stands at 231,895 cumulative cases, 4573 deaths, 21,818 hospitalizations and 3999 ICU admits.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
