Weather Weekend in Coweta: Rain likely Friday and Saturday

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says to expect a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms today and Saturday.
A few of the storms could be severe with strong to severe damaging winds, frequent lightning and locally heavy rainfall.
High temperatures will be 89 today and 85 on Saturday under partly sunny skies. Drier conditions take over on Sunday with only a 20 percent rain chance and the high of 91 degrees with sunny skies. Lows each day will be near 70.

FRIDAY – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

SATURDAY – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 3pm. Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 85. West wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
SATURDAY NIGHT – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
SUNDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9am. Sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.
