Update – Friday Evening Report: Coweta rises to 210 cases

UPDATE (6:25 p.m.) – Today’s second Daily Status Report has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Friday, May 1.
This report indicates 27,492 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Georgia (an increase of 469 from Friday’s midday report) and 1165 deaths (an increase of 25 from earlier today).
In Coweta County, the number of confirmed cases is 210, an increase of 7 new cases overnight. Today’s 15 new cases ties the single-day mark for cases, last posted on April 13. The number of deaths remains at 4 and hospitalizations due to the virus increased by 2, now totals 37.
Adding the Georgia totals for today (Friday) only, there’s 1232 new cases, 33 deaths and 117 people hospitalized. The 1232 cases were the most in a single day since 1598 on April 7.
In the last two days (Thursday and Friday), Georgia has had 1858 new cases, 70 deaths and 179 folks hospitalized.

In Coweta County, the number of confirmed cases is 203, an increase of 8 new cases overnight. It’s the highest single-day of new cases since a week ago (April 24) when Coweta had 10.
