The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Tuesday, Oct. 27.
COWETA COUNTY CASES
Coweta County confirmed 7 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday with 0 deaths and 1 hospitalization reported. It’s the 2nd consecutive day (8 on Monday) Coweta has been in single digits for cases, the first time that’s happened since Oct. 4-5. For the month of October, Coweta has posted 336 cases or an average of 12.4 per day.
The age groups of 5-14 years and 65-74 years both had 2 new cases today, the highest of all groups.
To date, Coweta has registered cumulative totals of 2964 cases, 63 deaths and 146 hospitalizations. The overall positive test rate is 7.9 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 6.0 percent.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).
GEORGIA CASES
Across Georgia on Tuesday, the state confirmed 1491 cases (up 533 from Monday’s totals) with 17 deaths, 169 hospitalizations and 30 ICU admits. The 169 hospitalizations were the most since 183 on Sept. 30. It’s also the 73rd straight day below 3,000 cases.
Presently, there are 1,431 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID, up 26 from Monday’s total.
Overall, Georgia has recorded cumulative totals of 353,372 cases, 7844 deaths, 31,256 hospitalizations and 5859 ICU admits. The overall positive test rate is 9.5 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 6.6 percent.
Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
