Each month we cover some of the hot trends from health and wellness, fashion and style, business or even tapping into your creative side.

Boots, Boots and More Boots-n-Bling
I adore my high heels, but growing up in Oklahoma boots have always been near and dear to my heart. Plus, I got my first horse when I was five years old. But let me tell you the boots they sell at Boots-N-Bling are in a league all their own.

At Boots-N-Bling in downtown Senoia you will find the largest collection of boots on the southside of Atlanta. They sell cowhide purses, fabulous jewelry and they are an exclusive boutique to carry French Kande in our area. If you love boots but even if you don’t – you will love these boots. Cowboy boots are a timeless trend whether worn with jeans, a skirt or even a wedding dress.

Local Provisions Makes Meal Shopping An Experience
Let me first say, John Winters and I do not shop together. The last time was about 1995. It was an epic fail. I ended up with a brown sofa and chair in less that 35 minutes. (Winters still demands that it was “sage.”  He’s wrong.)

However, shopping for food at cool places is an entirely different matter. That we can do. Local Provisions in downtown Newnan is owned by Laura and David Gabbard. Their desire is to bring great quality to Coweta and Fayette residents and they did just that. Everything in the store is hand chosen. They are also members of Georgia Grown. Laura and David met at the Art Institute of Atlanta in the School of Culinary Arts. They are chefs that have created unforgettable meals for years.

I took Winters to Local Provisions and he was in hog heaven. We had a wonderful time checking out all their special coffees, teas and special rubs they have made. They sell more than 70 wines, local eggs, and bacon that is out of this world. You will see products from all over the world but their grass fed animals from Georgia are a special hit. They also sell Blue Ridge apothecary soap and essentials from Pine Mountain. So head on over for a unique shopping experience.

We Are Still Cuckoo About Chickens
Think you are ready to have fresh eggs every morning? Well, the chicks have arrived at Arnall Grocery Company in downtown Newnan. And if you are in the market for a chicken coop for some new baby chicks they have you covered. I am the daughter of a veterinarian and grew up with all kinds of farm animals including chickens; but who knew I had so much to learn?

If you have never been there, you are in for a treat. You will certainly feel as though you have been transcended back in time. It is a perfect place to meet new friends, pick up your chicken feed and purchase a chicken coup right on the spot. That is, unless you want to build one … I am amazed how many people in our area are cuckoo over chickens.

Blessing Others By Giving Of Your Time, Talent And Treasures
A Better Way Ministries, Inc. is an 18-Month discipleship program for men who struggle with life controlling issues such as drugs and alcohol. It was started by John Barrow and the late Tony Ingram. The ministry is expansive and has touched countless lives since its inception in 2005. I am so thrilled to see that nonprofits continue to be a timeless trend and continue to grow.

Last month, Better Way Bargains Thrift Store hosted a Customer Appreciation Day. It was an opportunity to thank all those that support this ministry. I adore finding fabulous stuff. Located in Peachtree City, Better Ways ministry is vast and includes a moving company, custom made tables, including those for Chick-fil-A. They also repair cars, sell cars and have thousands of square feet of all kinds of awesome merchandise.

The best part of this ministry is that these men will be equipped to become productive citizens, who, when faced with the challenges of the world, will look to the Lord for solutions instead of relying on old patterns of destructive behavior. I have had the honor to meet many of them and they are true gentleman.
