Monday: Coweta adds 10 new cases of COVID-19

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Monday, Nov. 16.

COWETA COUNTY CASES

On Monday, Coweta County confirmed 10 new cases of COVID-19 with 0 deaths and 0 hospitalizations reported. It was the 3rd consecutive day Coweta has seen double-digit cases.

The age groups of 45-54 years and 55-64 years old had 10 new cases each since Friday, the most among all groups. Coweta now has 182 cases during the month of November for a daily average of 11.4 cases per day, just below October’s rate of 12.4 (total 385 cases).

To date, Coweta has registered cumulative totals of 3195 cases, 64 deaths and 159 hospitalizations. The overall positive test rate is 7.7 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 6.5 percent.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

GEORGIA CASES

In Georgia on Monday, the state confirmed 981 cases (down 971 from Sunday’s total), 9 deaths (up 9), 24 hospitalizations (down 1) and 4 ICU admits (down 1). The 981 cases was the first time since Nov. 2 the state has been below 1000. Georgia did continue its streak of 93 consecutive days today staying below 3000 cases.

Presently, there are 1,697 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID and 2337 ICU beds occupied across the state which is 79.7 percent capacity.

Overall, Georgia has recorded cumulative totals of 387,930 cases, 8471 deaths, 33,205 hospitalizations and 6229 ICU admits. The overall positive test rate is 9.3 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 7.9 percent.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
