Monday: Coweta adds 11 new cases of COVID-19

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Monday, Aug. 10.

Coweta County confirmed 11 new cases of COVID-19 today, with no deaths or hospitalizations. Monday’s cases marked the 21st consecutive day Coweta has seen double-digit new cases. In those 21 days (since July 21), Coweta has registered 495 cases (avg. 23.5 per day), 6 deaths and 28 hospitalizations.

Cumulative totals to date for Coweta include 1514 cases, 22 deaths and 99 hospitalizations.

Single-day highs for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (48 on July 23); deaths (3 on May 21); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

Today in Georgia, significantly lower numbers coming off a weekend. The totals statewide were 2429 cases, 30 deaths, 48 hospitalizations and 15 ICU admits.  Still, it was 35th consecutive day the state has recorded 2,000-or-more COVID-19 cases in a single day.

Presently, there are 2871 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID-19. That’s a decrease of 240 folks from last Monday.

Overall, Georgia now stands at 219,025 cumulative cases, 4229 deaths, 20,676 hospitalizations and 3767 ICU admits.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (94 on April 20); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (85 on July 24).
