Part of Brown Street in downtown Newnan closes

Last night, the section of Brown Street which runs alongside Central Baptist Church in downtown Newnan closed permanently.
The section between West Broad and Spring Streets was voted on for permanent closure last January by the Newnan City Council. The request was made by Central Baptist Church for expansion of their campus.
The official road closure took place at 10 p.m. Wednesday.
