Saturday: Coweta again with 32 new cases of COVID-19

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Saturday, July 25.

For the second consecutive day, Coweta County added 32 new cases of COVID-19. The last three days have seen Coweta with 48 cases on Thursday, 32 on Friday and 32 again on Saturday.  It’s the 11th time in 12 days Coweta has seen double-digit new cases. Also today, there was 1 hospitalization and no deaths reported.

Cumulative totals for Coweta now stand at 1168 cases, 17 deaths and 81 hospitalizations.

Single-day highs for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (48 on July 23); deaths (3 on May 21); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

Statewide today, Georgia dropped slightly in all categories, posting Saturday totals of 3787 cases, 53 deaths, 277 hospitalizations and 39 ICU admits.

Regardless of the lower numbers, today was the 17th time since July 1st that the statewide daily count has been over 3,000 and the 34th consecutive day over 1,000.

Presently, there are 3,094 people hospitalized in Georgia with COVID-19.

Overall, Georgia has 165,188 cumulative cases, 3495 deaths, 17,029 hospitalizations and 3158 ICU admits.

Georgia’s new single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (94 on April 20); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (85 on July 24).
