Thursday Daily Status Report: Coweta tops 700 cumulative cases of COVID-19

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Thursday, July 2.
Today, Coweta County surpassed the 700-mark for cases with 24, the third-highest single-day mark (45 on May 25 and 30 on June 24) since the pandemic began. No deaths or hospitalizations were recorded. In the past 3 days, Coweta has posted 61 new cases.
Coweta County now stands with cumulative totals of 708 cases, 16 deaths and 61 hospitalizations. Other Coweta County single-day highs are as follows: deaths – 3 (May 21); and hospitalizations – 6 (May 12).
Statewide today, Georgia set another single-day high for cases with 3,472, breaking yesterday’s previous high mark of 2,946. Other Thursday numbers include 22 deaths, 225 hospitalizations and 32 ICU admits. It was the 13th time in the past 14 days the state has passed the 1,000-case mark in a single day.
The cumulative totals for Georgia – 87,709 cases, 2849 deaths, 11,500 hospitalizations, 2389 ICU admits. Tests given – 1,044,722.
