The Joints – The Mad Mexican

Stop me if you’ve heard this joke before – So a Mexican taco walks into a bar and sits down next to a Southern brisket. Okay, forget the joke, just name that joint. If you said The Mad Mexican, go ask Chad for a free taco.
The word “eclectic” comes to mind when describing this downtown Newnan restaurant where South of the Border meets Southern BBQ. You can sit at table or at the bar and watch them cook, which is an extra 10 points in my book.
For the uninitiated, the menu is on a big chalkboard right when you walk in. Might be a little confusing at first, so pay attention.
Here’s how it works: No. 1. Pick a dish like the Slow Rider or the Uncle Rito in the first column. No. 2 pick you meat – chicken, ground beef, pulled pork, brisket, smoked sausage or black bean burger from the top of the second column. No. 3 your side, queso, guacamole, black bean-n-corn salsa, or pico de gallo from the bottom of the second column.
Or go for one of their specialities: Pineapple Willie, Ramrod Cod, El Bubbarito, Maui-Wowie, or the P.I.M.P.P. Those are on the third column. Let’s put it this way, if you love Mexican food and BBQ and want it all at once, you will have a hard time beating this place.
