From Staff Reports

Another busy weekend is on tap here in and around Coweta County.

Highlights include state high school football playoffs on Friday night with two games to be played locally. On Saturday, it’s the lighting of the Ashley Park Christmas tree. And Sunday, the Newnan Theatre Company performs Down The Road.

The weather will not be a problem either, just a little cool. Sunny skies and a high of 55 degrees is the forecast for Friday. Then look for sunny skies with highs in the low 60s on both Saturday and Sunday.

Below is the day-to-day listing. To have your event listed, please email [email protected].

NTC’s Down The Road
Down the Road will be performed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Newnan Theatre Company and centers on a husband and wife writing team hired to help a convicted serial killer write an account of his crimes. The killer, Bill Reach, has admitted to the murders of nineteen women, but there may have been more. Over many weeks of interviews, the couple—Dan and Iris Henniman— grow more and more uncertain of the ethics of what they are doing. Are they simply relating terrifying events, or are they helping readers consume rape, murder and mutilation as if they are consuming any other product of our society? Are they, in fact, helping to turn Bill Reach into a celebrity?
