Thursday: Coweta sets daily record with 6 COVID-related deaths

Just two days removed from a hospitalization daily record, Coweta County broke the high for COVID-related deaths in a day on Thursday.
Coweta confirmed 6 deaths yesterday, eclipsing the previous high of 5 established just 13 days ago. That milestone comes a couple days after Coweta posted a daily high for hospitalizations with 25 on Sept. 14.
Other numbers per the Georgia Department of Public Health yesterday had Coweta with 79 new cases of COVID-19 and one hospitalization.
The county has posted 388 cases in the past week (Sept. 10-16) for an average of 55.4 per day. In addition, Coweta has 15 deaths and 34 hospitalizations in that same span.
For the month of September, Coweta has confirmed 1,114 cases of COVID-19 (69.6 per day) with 28 deaths and 87 hospitalizations.
Overall, Coweta has 11,849 cases since the pandemic began, including 263 deaths with 17 probable deaths and 599 hospitalizations.
Statewide on Thursday, Georgia confirmed 4,072 cases of COVID-19 with 172 deaths (4th-highest in a day), 249 hospitalizations and 33 ICU admits. In patient census categories, Georgia had 13,558 In-Patient Beds in Use yesterday (3rd-highest) and 2,946 ICU Beds in Use (96.1% capacity and 5th-highest).
Georgia has a cumulative total of 1,177,656 cases, 21,143 deaths, 77,367 hospitalizations and 12,501 ICU admits.
