Wednesday: Coweta reports 8 new cases of COVID, 1 hospitalization

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Wednesday, Oct. 14.
COWETA COUNTY CASES
Coweta County confirmed 8 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday with no deaths and 1 hospitalization. So far in October, Coweta has posted 155 cases (11.1 per day), 11 deaths and 9 hospitalizations.
Overall to date, Coweta has registered cumulative totals of 2783 cases, 58 deaths and 141 hospitalizations. The overall positive test rate is 8.1 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 5.4 percent.
Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).
GEORGIA CASES
Statewide on Wednesday, Georgia confirmed 1297 cases (up 304 from Tuesday’s totals), 16 deaths, 156 hospitalizations (the most since 183 on Sept. 30) and 23 ICU admits. It’s the 25th consecutive day Georgia has been below 2,000 cases in a day, the 60th straight day below 3,000.
Presently, there are 1,325 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID, down 5 from Tuesday.
Overall, Georgia has recorded cumulative totals of 334,601 cases, 7470 deaths, 29,918 hospitalizations and 5546 ICU admits. The overall positive test rate is 9.8 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 5.6 percent.
Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
