Tuesday: Coweta posts 26 new cases, 2 hospitalizations

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Tuesday, July 28.

Coweta County recorded 26 new cases of COVID-19 today, including 2 hospitalizations and no deaths. It’s the 9th time in the last 12 days Coweta has added 20-or-more new cases in a single day. During that 12-day span, Coweta has had 295 cases, 1 death and 15 hospitalizations.

Cumulative totals for Coweta now stand at 1233 cases, 17 deaths and 84 hospitalizations.

So far in July, Coweta has registered 566 cases of COVID-19, more than doubling June’s total cases of 250. Coweta has had 2 deaths in July and 24 hospitalizations.

Single-day highs for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (48 on July 23); deaths (3 on May 21); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

Georgia rose in all four categories from Monday’s numbers. Today, Georgia had 4209 cases, 54 deaths, 406 hospitalizations and 64 ICU admits.  It was the 37th consecutive day Georgia had over 1,000 new cases and was the 18th time since July 1st the statewide daily count has been over 3,000.

Presently, there are 3,157 people hospitalized in Georgia with COVID-19.

Overall, Georgia has 175,052 cumulative cases, 3563 deaths, 17,544 hospitalizations and 3236 ICU admits.

In July, COVID-19 positive cases in Georgia now total 93,761, almost tripling June’s total of 34,228. There have been 758 deaths, 6493 hospitalized and 913 ICU admits.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (94 on April 20); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (85 on July 24).
