The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Wednesday, Nov. 11.

COWETA COUNTY CASES

Coweta County confirmed 9 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday with 0 deaths and 0 hospitalizations reported. The age group of 55-64 years old had 3 new cases, the most among all groups. So far in November, Coweta is averaging 9.7 cases per day, slightly below the daily rate of 12.4 for October.

To date, Coweta has registered cumulative totals of 3120 cases, 63 deaths and 155 hospitalizations. The overall positive test rate is 7.8 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 6.1 percent.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

GEORGIA CASES

Across the state on Wednesday, Georgia confirmed 1640 cases (down 233 from Tuesday’s totals), 69 deaths (up 28), 175 hospitalizations (up 27) and 33 ICU admits (down 8).  Georgia continues to have been over 2000 cases in a day just twice since Sept. 19 and owns a streak of 88 consecutive days below 3000.

Presently, there are 1,620 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID, up 52 from yesterday. That’s the most hospitalized since 1,659 on September 7.

Overall, Georgia has recorded cumulative totals of 377,694 cases, 8333 deaths, 32,806 hospitalizations and 6171 ICU admits. The overall positive test rate is 9.3 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 7.4 percent.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
