Update – Friday Evening Report: Coweta remains at 257 cases

UPDATE (6:25 p.m.) – Today’s second Daily Status Report has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Friday, May 8.

This report indicates 32,171 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Georgia (an increase of 449 from today’s noon report) and 1399 deaths (an increase of 43 from earlier today).

In Coweta County, the number of new cases remained at 257. It’s the first time since April 30 Coweta didn’t register a new case in a 24-hour period and only the fourth time since March 25 that Coweta did not have a new case in a single day. The 4 deaths and 41 hospitalizations remain unchanged today as well.

Adding the Georgia totals for today (Friday) only, there’s 596 new cases, 59 deaths, 110 people hospitalized, and 21 admitted to ICU.

In the last two days combined (Thursday and Friday), Georgia has had 1434 new cases, 82 deaths and 189 folks hospitalized.
