Weather: Cold, breezy start to work week here in Coweta

There will be plenty of sunshine throughout the work week here in Coweta County, but folks can expect the first couple of days to be cold and breezy.

The National Weather Service says the high temperature on Monday and Tuesday will be around 50, with Northwest winds from 5-15 mph, gusting to 25. The overnight low on Monday will be 28 and then 29 on Tuesday.

Temperatures begin to rise beginning Wednesday with a high of 57. Then on Thursday and Friday, the highs will be in the lower 60s.

The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies all work week with the first chance of rain appearing on Saturday.

Below is the day-by-day outlook (subject to change) from the NWS:

MONDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 50. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.

MONDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 28. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

TUESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 49. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 29. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

WEDNESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 57. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the morning.

THURSDAY – Sunny, with a high near 64.

FRIDAY – Sunny, with a high near 63.
