Weather: Cooler weather highlights Memorial Day Weekend
From Staff Reports
A slow-moving cold front will make its way through Coweta County today and tonight, bringing a rain chance and much cooler temperatures.
The National Weather Service is giving a 20 percent rain chance today, increasing to 50 percent tonight as the front moves through. The timing of the rain – likely after 8 p.m. – could play a factor in tonight’s high school graduations at East Coweta and Northgate which are to take place outside at 7 and 7:30 p.m., respectively. Check with each school to find out if any changes to the commencement ceremonies will be made.
Today’s high will be near 85 degrees and the overnight low around 61.
The cooler temperatures arrive on Saturday with mostly sunny skies and a high of only 74 – a contrast to this week’s high temperatures in the 90s. The low Saturday night will drop down to 51.
Sunny skies continue both Sunday and Memorial Day. Sunday’s high will be 79 while Memorial Day’s forecast calls for a high near 85.
Rain chances return on Tuesday.
