Weather: Hot, dry to start off work week in Coweta

The work week will begin with highs in the 90s and drier, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

Expect high temperatures today and Tuesday to be 92 and 93 degrees, respectively with Heat Index values around 97 and 98. Rain chances are listed as 0 percent today and only 10 percent on Tuesday.

Temperatures drop slightly beginning Wednesday as the high will be 89 degrees. The high will remain in the 80s on both Thursday and Friday, near 87 degrees. Rain possibilities do increase to 60 percent on Wednesday and 50 percent from Thursday through Sunday.

Overnight lows will be near 70 degrees.

MONDAY – Patchy fog between 8am and 9am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 97. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon.

MONDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 71. Calm wind.

TUESDAY – A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Sunny, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 98. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon.

TUESDAY NIGHT – A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

WEDNESDAY – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

THURSDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87.

FRIDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87.

SATURDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87.
