Weekend Weather in Coweta: Highs near 90 degrees

Summer officially starts today and certainly by the high temperatures, folks will certainly agree.

The National Weather Service says to expect highs near 90 degrees today, Saturday and Sunday. The heat index on Saturday could be as high as 99.

And showers and thunderstorms are always a possibility this time of year. Look for a 40 percent chance of a shower or thunderstorm on Saturday and a 30 percent chance on Sunday.

TODAY – Sunny, with a high near 92. West wind around 5 mph.

TONIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

SATURDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Heat index values as high as 99. West wind around 5 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. West wind around 5 mph.

SUNDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. West wind around 5 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70.
